IC has been host to a unique sporting experience every Saturday afternoon this term. Head Rugby Coach, Richard Bampfylde, has worked hard to encourage the sport across both campuses in recent years and, along with the support of directors, Tarek Moussally and Jaana Lundholm, and the commitment and endeavors of Coaches Ryan and Nichole McKinnie, it is true to say that rugby is now very much part of IC life. With a bus from Ain Aar bringing rugby players to Beirut, accompanied by Coach Bassel Haddad, teams are created, mixing all ages and both genders. Activities include touch rugby, diamonds, kick tennis and of course plenty of fun fitness drills! All students (Grades 6-12) as well as families are welcome to watch. The squad’s first tournament success occurred at AUB in the first social touch rugby tournament of the season.
